Babel Obfuscator v4.0.0.0
#112

hello,
I wanted to try this not to male some app hard to decompile, but to standardize two versions of one app so I can find out where the differences lie. For some reason, the changes include variable name substitution, but by the hundreds. Anyway, I read that this is the best of its kind, so let me check it and if it is all good I'll make sure I up-vote this post. Either way I'll post a follow up to inform future visitors.

OK, I'm done testing. First let me say that I can't guarantee this is 100% safe. The installer isn't signed which makes sense if this is a repack (also the file in the crack dir is identical to the one installed so it isn't needed). To be safe, I run my trial runs on a vista virtual machine, but when I ran the obfuscator I got a warning stating that I was running a demo and the effects will expire after 3 weeks or so. Although I was disappointed, I don't really mind that too much since as I mentioned my main goal was to find true difference among a sea of variable name changes. I tried to script the name changes back but as some of the names repeat it was impossible to unravel the correct sequence of changes. Instead I obfuscated both programs and deobfuscated them back (using de4dot). The result was two programs with the same names. After removing some pesky comments a simple diff gave me all the true changes (I wish I could do the same with the babel obfuscator, but alas there is no original or uncracked version that I can find). Still, we are out of luck on a permanent obfuscator here, but I still up-voted this thread since I haven't really checked why the crack isn't working for me (I assume that it works fine for most of the downloads here ...)
Anyway, I am happy with the results. thank you for making this available.
