just casually playing games when i hear a loud noise from my cpu. its getting hot. what should i do. its not normally like this.

If its old maybe reapply thermal paste, if its not liquid cooled.... liquid cool it, are you sure its the CPU and not motherboard

You should check the thermal paste definitely , I'm having the same problem but I think the paste I'm using is really bad and it keeps just not doing anything :/.

like the people before said: problem is most likely the thermal paste. try to refresh it.
