Some pirating can be stopped, such as games. But you can't really do anything to the music or movies. In a worst case scenario people would just record their computers playing music/movies if the encryption was somehow unbeatable. As long as sound and video has to go through gpu/sound card, you would be pretty much getting lossless or near lossless quality anyway.

Maybe if more games companies shelled out Demos for games more often, then they'd be less likely to be pirated. At least thats what i do, pirate games to try, then buy!
