You'd be wasting resources and money on electricity for nothing. You're better off cloud mining or buying a mining hardware like Antminer etc.

Profit can still be good but it depends on a few variables:

 

BTC mining is only profitable if either ( A ) You have free electricity ( B ) You have a high end ASIC e.g. the latest Antminer

 

However you can mine other crypto using CPU(s) and / or GPU(s) and get paid in BTC using a platform such as NiceHash  :)

Don't waste your time trying to mine bitcoin unless you're feeling lucky. If you are, grab an old USB Blockerupter / Gekko or some other ASIC, stick it in a constantly running raspberry pi and hope that someday it hits a block while solo mining.
