Debt collectors

I was unemployed for 3 months and was unable to pay minimum payment on my credit card and I now learned it was bought out by a collection agency and this royally fucked my credit (dropped by 85 points)

I’ve seen on instagram/facebook some people saying they can repair your credit and I’m wondering what I can do now. I’m planning on lowballing the collection agency in hopes they will accept my offer but aside from that should I be trying to send out disputes now before I pay the collection agency? Should I pay them at all ?
