2. Know your tools.
Minimal setup: Rat for making .exe and manage the connected users; VPN to not get fucked by the cops; crypter to get FUD rat; spreading / buy bots
Recommended setup: here you do the same but instead of running the rat on your computer, you buy anonymously a virtual private server which also has a vpn like you.

3. Money making
There are many options to make money with bots but from my personal experience, the best thing to do is to mine with bots, proxy checking them and selling them or making tools with them to spread.
Crypto-mining does no real harm to others,and proxie-checking is easy and needed on a daily basis.

Javascript won't help too much for this but its good to know 2 languages. There are some open source/sample botnets written in python you can check out with a quick search.

The thing that is really going to trip you up is networking. Your C2 (Command & Control) needs to stay up and hopefully not be easily traceable to you. You also want to have backups/fail safes so if your domain or C2 get taken down you can collect your bots again.

Don't forget you still have to get the client installed on some systems which is its own challenge.
