Amount scammed: N/A as I havent paid him anything yet. I'm just out of the money i spent on buying the item based on his advice

Additional Information: Before ordering the product, i reached out to him to see which store he would prefer. Based on that picked the store, ordered the product, received it on 7 Jan and started the refund process. He had originally promised a few hours for the refund which has gone on for over a month now. Last week he told me that I will have to deal with the call from the company and since then went AWOL. Today i bugged the company into calling me through chat and they dont just need verbal confirmation like he was talking about. They want a police report, id and a bunch of forms filled out before they would even move to the next step. At this point, I'm past the return period and am looking at $600 in the hole.

You mentioned it would be complete in a few hours and that implies he would have enough time to return it if you did happen to fail which is not the case because you haven’t provided any updates to him and his deadline for return is past due.

There is a procedure for everything. As per me it would have been done within few hours but things didn't work right. I am working to resolve this ASAP.

thanks Puppyman. i've fwded you the message from oneplus asking for more details on the return. the best case scenario now that works the best for both of us would be them accepting the return. in this case, i lose only the money needed to ship back the item. if not, lets discuss alternatives at that time.

puppyman reached out to oneplus and asked me to send oneplus a couple of pictures of the actual phone box and mention that the item was found in the mailbox. i did that yesterday.
