Another humble bundle laying around. This one's more focused on programming as a whole and not really about specific languages, just the important philosophies, paradigms, concepts, and general theory.
Of course, the books often focus on a specific language, but go beyond just the syntax.

If you're actually trying to learn computer science for school or for a potential career, these books are great. Can't recommend them for someone who just wants to build calculators and checkers, though.
