Hello,

I would like to ask how safe it is to keep high balance in your new Amazon account. I saw that Amazon banns accounts with high balance so I'm asking how much can you keep to be safe.

I'm planning on buying a phone with my balance which is loaded from 1 gift card 25$ and then from prepaid mastercards by 11$ each. The value of the phone will be around 300$.

Am I safe?

Thanks.

It probably isn't safe. Depending on the source of the cards and the gc, each questionable card could trigger a lock on the account. Often, this is after you put multiple cards in. You are better off using a couple large cards than a bunch of small ones. Also, if the account is aged you probably ok with a high total, but if the account is new, then it will have flag if it goes over 200-250.00. Finally, if it is a prime account already you might be fine, but if not, and you upgrade to prime it could flag. I would pay the extra for faster shipping instead of using prime to keep it from getting locked over that.

So in summary:

* new accounts are more vulnerable than aged ones

* new accounts should be capped at around 200.00 ish

* do not upgrade to prime until its aged and the verification details don't attach to previous flags

Out of an interest of sharing knowledge for educational purposes, to make larger purchases, you need to find a way to consolidate those funds and then make the purchase. One way is to put in smaller amounts on stealth accounts and buy new gift cards with them for another retailer. Then buy the phone from that other retailer with the fresh cards.

Pretty sure they won’t ban you for no reason unless you did anything against their terms of service. If you’ve just got a prepaid balance on there I doubt they’d ban you
