REWORKED Information: Member of the Month/Year (MOTM/MOTY)

Dear Community,

We have decided to change things up for our Member of the Month contests. The award is given to a special member for each month, based on their activeness, contributions throughout the forum and winning the most votes in the poll. The decision of electing the MoTM will be made by the combined efforts of the community and the staff members.
Like before, the process will consist of only three phases: Nomination, Selection and Voting.
 
 
 

Nomination

The first phase, the nomination phase, begins in the first week of every month and lasts until the last week of the month. A thread will be created in this subforum, in which all members have the privilege of nominating someone of their choice, in which they are allowed to nominate any member who fits the following requirements:

• Has not received the MOTM award previously
• Non-staff member (Retired staff members, Developers and Reversers can still be nominated)
• Has not been suspended during the month of the contest
• Has contributed in some public way during the month of the contest

Members are allowed to nominate multiple people for every monthly contest. The nomination post must contain a tag of the username ex. ( @ Illuminati ), followed by a minimum of four of their contributions that occurred within the month, and a reason why they deserve the award. The links to the contributions do not necessarily have to be threads, but can also be links to specific posts of the nominee.
 
Members are now allowed to ask others to nominate them.
However, asking for votes during this phase will get you banned from the contest, even if you're already on the poll).
No feedback/criticism regarding another member's nomination post is allowed. Any user that violates these rules may be warned and will have their post removed.
 

Selection

Once the nomination phase passes, Preaux will review every nominated member and select the most qualified to be featured on the poll.
Some of the qualities that will be looked at are the following:

• Helping other members out
• Posting quality content (ex. Tutorials, leaks, methods etc.)
• Respecting others, keeping a good behaviour and displaying good manners
• Maintaining activity throughout the month

Only actions of a nominee made in that specific month will be taken into consideration.
During this time, you cannot contact Staff members in regards to who will be on the poll.
 
 
Voting

It's completely up to the community to decide who the winner of the prestigious title and award will be.
On the 3rd day of the following month, the Voting phase begins and a poll is created within this subforum. The poll will contain a maximum of 15 members who have been nominated to be voted upon.

 

Members with an account age less than 30 days based on the time that months voting thread was posted will be excluded from the total vote. Accounts that are also not in good standings, example being spammers or leechers, will also not be counted.
 
You are not allowed to ask other members to vote for you under any circumstances.
Members in the poll are not allowed to link to the poll at all. Doing this is seen as hinting at or asking for votes. Any such attempts will get you permanently blacklisted from entering the contest and temporarily suspended from the forum. (Note: You will be permabanned if you exceed 10 warning points)
 
Community members who are not in the MOTM competition cannot ask for votes on a nominees' behalf. Members are not allowed to purposely ask for votes on behalf of a nominee with the intention of forcing them to get disqualified from the contest. Users who are guilty of this will receive a forum suspension or a permanent ban. The nominees themselves, however, will not be reprimanded unless they instigated or asked other users to create such threads or content.
 
Members cannot advertise nor link to the MOTM competition in their signature if they are in the competition. Other members can link to the poll thread (in signatures or posts), but they are not allowed to advertise nor harm another member in doing so.
 
Members cannot create threads or message/announce people off-site to encourage voting for another member - this includes any Discord Servers.
 
 
The member that receives the most votes is the official winner and will be granted the MOTM award.

Rules

Many of these rules have been stated above, but have been written in the form of a list so that they are easier to understand and can be referred to when someone has a question.

• Nominees may not be nominated more than once in the same thread. Also, others are not allowed to post things such as "I agree and want to nominate him for the same reasons." Anyone who makes a post that isn't a nomination, or nominates someone that has already previously been nominated in the same thread, will receive a warning for not following the rules.
• Nominees cannot have received the Member of the Month award previously. Members cannot win more than one award, and therefor will not be allowed to enter the competition again after winning. However, users who have received the Member of the Month award previously may be nominated to participate in the Member of the Year contest.
• Nominees cannot be a Staff member. This does not include retired Staff members. The user who posted the nomination will receive a warning for not following the rules, and have their post removed.
• Members CAN ask others to nominate them.
• Nominees can post ONCE on the voting thread.
• Members who were not nominated cannot ask for votes on nominees' behalves. Any such attempts will get the user permanently blacklisted from entering the contest, and either warned or temporarily banned from the forum. In addition, members cannot intentionally ask for votes on behalf of a nominee with the intention of forcing their disqualification or ban from the contest. Users who are guilty of this will receive a permanent ban from the forum. The nominees themselves, however, will not be reprimanded unless they instigated or asked other users to create such threads or content.
• Nominees cannot link to the poll. This is considered as hinting or asking for votes (see the rule below). It does not matter what the intentions were, or if the link wasn't accompanied by text. Breaking this rule results in a ban from the contest.
• Nominees are NOT allowed to hint for or ask other members to vote for them. Any such attempts will get them permanently blacklisted from entering the contest, and suspended from accessing the forum.
• No bashing a nominee. Bashing of a nominee will result in a warning and a possible disqualification of the nominee bashing the other one.
• Non-participating members CAN link to the poll thread. This includes signatures or posts. However, they are not allowed to advertise another user nor harm another member in doing so.

 

 

 

MOTY
 
At the end of every year, the administration will host a contest for the Member of the Year award. The nominating phase will open up the 24th of December and last until the last day in the month. The voting phase will begin the 9th of January and end two weeks after.
 
To nominate the Member of the Year a member must tag the user, post at least 5 of their highest quality contributions throughout the entire year and the reason for the nomination.
Upon the selecting phase, the entire Staff team will pick a maximum of 10 members for the voting phase.
 
(You may nominate a member who either has or hasn't received a MoTM award previously)
All rules above apply to this contest as well.
