I see sales threads(here, and on some other forums), or ads, websites etc. created with the intention of marketing and selling their product. Obviously, the standard language here is English. Not everybody here has English as their first language, and by virtue of that I see lots of these threads/websites/ads that are meant to be (at least semi)professional, but have that quality seriously undercut by unclear messaging, bad structure, spelling, grammar etc.

I know I have skipped out on purchasing from people before just because of this. Being unsure as to whether or not they will be able to provide support(because of language barriers), not understanding their product correctly(and not buying because I can't be sure that what they are selling will meet my needs), etc. The baseline is, I end up having reservations toward people or not bothering with what they have up because I can't be entirely sure as to what they're attempting to sell or do. The same goes for those who run blogs in English.

I don't think I'm unique to this experience, meaning these people could be missing out on a good chunk of customers. Surely that is a risk these people would acknowledge, and invest in someone to edit for them just to ensure that whatever they're putting up there is up to standard? Quality is important to people. I even see this issue in some games.

Sometimes, I genuinely consider contacting these people when I see an ad, or website, or sales thread and offering to edit for them. I feel like there's an improvement to be made, but then I question whether or not a person will just take offence to the idea, despite my consideration being for their interests.

Thoughts?
