Looks like a fairly comprehensive list of resources. Albeit, there seems to be more resources for other languages/tools compared to Java itself.

I learned Java via Walter Savitch's, "An Introduction to Problem Solving and Programming." Here's a link to the free online pdf in case anyone is interested enough to check it out.
