Hey man...I can't offer much in terms of helping you make money (maybe my signature can ;-) ). But all I want to say is, You WILL get through this. To me, family is everything. You have your wifes support as it sounds. Continue grinding (working hard) and you will hopefully make a profit.
I have maybe 1 or 2 suggestions, widen the array of sites you post jobs on. That is guaranteed to attract more attention to your work. 2nd, Make a website if you haven't already to display your past work! A portfolio basically. It would help customers see how vast or focused your work is.
