Start with python, it will get you making scripts and hacks for yourself first. If you want to be a developer then take a course in java or c++

is this even a question

The first response was the best one. While the other languages mentioned are useful to learn in their own right, if your goal is to make games--as in those that are played on PCs and consoles, not some cheesy flash-type games--you need to learn C++ as this is what the majority of the gaming industry uses.

 

With that said, there is a large variety of jobs in the gaming industry other than just coding for the game, such as making tools for the designers, that may utilize other languages. 3D Studio Max is very common so learning its scripting language might also be a good route into the industry.
