Since when do people develop for android in JS? I thought Java and Kotlin were the big ones.

C# is exponentially easier to understand than C++ and the .Net framework was built almost exclusively for C# and windows development.

since when couldn't people develop in javascriptfor Android? fairly sure electron is supported on android hence javascript.

plus i'm pretty sure there's some apps that use some sort of autistic javascript backend, with minimal a java passthrough interface.

I will answer you based on my experience.

I coded many hours of many language, and, the rigth thing to chose the language is : "What do I want to create?" "Is it a big scalable web app?" "Is it a simple web page" "Is it a game?" etc...

If you want to travel the whole notions, please consider this:

  - C will teach you the low-level, low-level is memory managment, pointer etc..., C is the best language to begin the programing since the syntaxe is really easy, and notion reamains understandable.

  - Node.Js will teach you the network, basically how client and server communicate, the security etc.. I said Node.Js because Javascript is used by many many people, the community is very very big, you'll not be lost there. And Javascript is a descent language where a lot of web-app uses.

  - F# or Ocaml will teach you the functionnal programming language, a very elegant way to do things.

With this in your pocket, you'll have nearly the whole dev concepts, and you'll be able to learn almost every languages very fast!

I hope I helped you.

Depends in the field you want to go to. Like web dev makes money and they use stuff like javascript, ruby, python. Data scientist are all the new rage and most of them favor Python. System engineering need C/C++.

Javascript for everything, python for the rest.

Just kidding but basically, javascript will allow you to create web based stuff, website, bots, application event mobile one.

Python would be more related to real world stuff like connected device, and more !

Have fun with those two but finding a project you want to developp.
