Eh, I agree but disagree with some things you've said. You can learn if you put your mind to it and start off small maybe with TheNewBoston on YouTube. I got pretty far and didn't start reading books and stuff until later on after I was already a little proficient in coding. Everyone is different and if you do put your mind to it and give it your all, you WILL see the results, it might take a little longer than going the correct route but everyone has their own way of learning. What's good for one isn't for the next

In the early stuff at Uni we learned a lot by doing basic console methods which do simple mathematic operations etc, then went on and got into more complex stuff. But still no real programs, just more complex methods.
For me that helped a lot in keeping me motivated, to see im not the biggest noob anymore.
Also please dont make your code a total mess, if you're one day working with others you want their code to be nice to read aswell.
May sound unnecessary to say that to a beginner, but I do see at Uni what can happen if noone does.
And you're right about stackoverflow I've learned a shit ton of practical things there aswell, just try to understand what u're copy-pasting and you'll learn.
