With current politics and such, citizenship would be more difficult and require additional background checking by the Department of Homeland Security. Good luck.

I moved from the UK to Canada back in 2009 and it was a fairly lengthy process getting Permanent Residency. It takes 3 years on average to get citizenship here in Canada. I imagine its the same kind of situation if not worse in the states since their immigration policy is getting way harsher now.

P.S. For US I thiink there are like shit ton of tests you'll need to know shit ton about history afaik and some bullshit stuff, check Canada process, I would believe much easier :)
