I have a friend that got his instagram account hacked and the all that email stuff, username, password were changed.
He contacted support but of course it wasn't useful.
Does anyone know how could that possibly happen? could it happen to anyone? did he leak his password or something? I'm very curious

Do you mind sharing the email attached to the account or PM me? I can make a search to see if his info is logged in a combo list or database somewhere that's been leaked.
Otherwise, it could have been a keylog or any other malicious tool that he was infected with.
