most likely because fortnite is huge and its a multiplayer games if sony gets asked to make crossplay then they might switch to something else so they wouldnt want that

Such a shame that Sony is doing immensely well today but they're being too tight with this. Crossplay on all three platforms would be fun and could open up possibilities for impromptu tournaments or special stuff on streaming channels.

some people have had their PSN/Switch accounts connected through brute force logging in on the switch, I'm not sure if that's legit though
