If you have no experience in programming you may start with C#, is pretty easy. Also this language is as similar to C++ as Java.
Anyway I don't suggest you to start from C# if you want to train something really useful. Start from Java and if you will like it you'll able to understand also C++ without too much problem at the start.

I heard python is really good (for engineering applications). Not sure for Comp Sci majors tho...

Just pick a popular one and go for it.

 

Once you grasp the concept you can easily switch to other languages.
