What's the purpose of this?

This script is designed to grab a list of HTTPS Elite proxies from 2 sources (easy to grab from more sources if needed)

It should be automatic and should create a file named "proxies.txt"

This script can also work in tandem with my previous script for checking proxies against a website

Update:

The old script is no longer functioning since one of the sites has changed its contents and thus broke compatibility with the old script.

To remedy this (and the long time it took for me to update this script) I decided to implement the proxy checker function with the new script so you don't need 2 python scripts to gather and check proxies.

Usage:
To make use of this new script you must run the Python script either through an IDE (Python comes with IDLE for Windows versions, IDLE can be downloaded through your Linux package manager or through your OS X Homebrew package manager)

Patch 2.1: Fixed write function since it was throwing around errors.
Patch 2.2: Fixed filename requirement for testing generated proxies.

To generate a new proxylist file:

write()

To gather contents of a proxylist file:

read()

To test a proxylist against a website:

test()

Examples:

The script:

Update:
Since the source for the proxies has changed since writing this script (which breaks the script) I've decided to make a follow-up but this time I've done that with Python 3 instead of in Python 2.
I've explained the change in the thread since it's no small shift from Python 2 to Python 3 and requires you to install Python 3 interpreter if you haven't installed it yet.

thanks for ahax
