I bought multiple cases of drinks in a carton (120 cartons total) off this store and claimed 100/120 cartons were damaged and had spilled everywhere. I also said the undamaged ones were sticky and had to be thrown away as well. Store acknowledged that the bottles were damaged, but they claimed it was only a few damaged bottles (34 instead of 100) and were only willing to give me a small partial refund, whereas I wanted a full refund. Eventually had to escalate to a PayPal dispute on an account with an established history and only one other dispute throughout the years. Now PayPal wants me to send the items back, but I called support and explained the situation and they said to just send back whatever bottles I had, whether they were damaged ones or not, and to let the seller know this is all I have left to return. They also acknowledged that this situation is unusual since usually they don't deal with disposable items.
I'm worried the store is going to receive the refund and claim they didn't receive the right item, but as I already explained to PayPal support over the phone, I threw out most of the damaged and sticky bottles, so I don't have much left to return. Just wondering what I should do in this situation? Should I try boxing or should I just send back some empty bottles and claim this is all I have left? I told PayPal support I have a few undamaged bottles left over, so I'm wondering if I'll be in hot water if I just send back a bunch of empty, damaged bottles.
