Ok Before you go ahead and write in comment "OMG SUCH A DUMBASS HAHAHA, I WOULD TAKE IT" , Allow me to explain on why I refunded him.

First of all, I don't care about $10k, I care about my long term goals more than anything, This customer can single handed decrease $10K worth of sales in the next months, That would mean a Negative Impact instead of Positive. If you have enough positive impacts and impressions on your business, It will grow, Instead of liabilities such as "Scamming" So Let's think of it this way: I gain $2k sales from what I already have bcz he will tell his friends about me Vs Lose $10K sales i already have cuz he will mass DM my customers with proof that I scam

Secondly, Im a nice guy lmao, I would feel bad If I lost $10k when it's all I have . And it was a nice opportunity to show everyone im here for being legit

If lost 10k, it's almost never it's their last 10k. Someone who loses 10k can probably get it back. This all means that this person can help you with making money in some way, because they also have $$$

The relationship got stronger but refunding him. All you "lost" was a quick and easy 10k which is not bad, since it's not gonna be your last 10k. + the whole karma thing probably as well.

Honestly - for the integrity and success of your business long term. That was probably the right decision.

 

Handing over large sums of money you know you should give back always does suck subconsciously though!
