Apple due to more premium feeling ecosystem in addition to a way better user experience in a majority of applications. You don't have to worry about unsupported hardware, and it's really hassle-free.

xiaomi also has some big boy flagship phones

Apple is doing updates to slower your phone, so you will be in need to get a new phone in 2-3 years later. 

You can bypass it, when you put your location to france, your phone will be as fast as in day 1 usage.

 

But alone cause of that fact, I wouldnt use Apple. Never.
