it is very very simple for beginners
get fat!
Yeah that means eating everything, pizza, burgers and so on while lifting as much weight as possible, of course you dont need to eat only fast food, the cleaner your diet the better but you need lots of calories
If you are a beginner you can do a bulk passe of even 2 years, in this time period you will gains lots of kg of muscles and probably x15 x20 the weight you can lift
After, of course you can diet down and trim all the fat, if you want more muscle after, repeat!

To build muscle basically just use each muscle group with a good heavy weight. Rule of thumb is 3 sets of 10 reps, by the end of the second set you should be starting to struggle.
That will strengthen the muscles, then all you need is to eat. Eat anything, high protein snack or meal after work out is good. Stuff like chicken, however you like it, nuts as snacks, whatever. Eat at least a small meal when you are hungry and your body will do the rest.
The more often you work out each muscle group the faster it will grow however only if you give it time to rest and heal. Doing bicep curls everyday is less recommended than doing then right with heavy weights every 3 days.
Really just get into a routine of working out and thr rest will come. You don't always have to go for the most intense workout, any exercise is better than none.

Before you get to the heavy weights train with light weights for more reps, your joints will not be used to the heavy weight and it can lead to injury.

You want to gain weight but you don't like gaining weight?
Look you can get shredded on fast food but its not the best fuel for your body. The same as a flower can grow out of the sidewalk but grows better in a greenhouse.
So, as I said: if you want to build muscle you must workout, if you are working out you will be hungry, if you eat good food most of the time or at least after your workouts then you will build muscle. You can build muscle without getting fat but calories in vs calories out will determine if you do that or not
