I have never seen this happen before but it is a possibility. Exodus does show the funds pretty early so it could be worth waiting until there are more confirmations. I usually just assume that it's secure when received but when there are larger amounts it may be worth waiting.

 

I believe that 0 conf BCH is generally considered acceptable for merchants, but when dealing with more technologically advanced people often, more caution may be required.

The doublespend attack has nothing to do with the exodus wallet it can happen to you with any other wallet as well.

All wallets I know show the funds as soon the tx is send but this not means it is confirmed.

 

There is a reason why exchanges require a min. amount of confirmations. In theory 1 confirmation is not even enough.

Binance for example deposits your funds after the first confirmations but to withdraw funds again you need more confirmations.

 

In like 2013 these attacks were much more common, now many wallets don't allow you to do the double spending.

 

1. Dont trust randoms in the internet.

2. Double check everything when dealing with money.

Lmao, he's still on it. Got a DM on Discord about my currency exchange post saying he does the best rates in the market (4%). When I asked for his nulled profile, said he doesn't have one, but he gave me the same telegram mentioned by OP (@bla1721).

 

Tried searching for that tag on Nulled and ended up here. Dodged a scammer just cause of this thread, big thanks
