FontAwesome has released version 6. From initial release of this version, it's no longer possible to use CDN, meaning this is still valid, but only for version 5

When you will really want to host it for yourself so you are outside of 3rd party server connection, you can use CSS beautifier and download all of the sources for yourself from there.
