** my opinion on this situation **

 

in my opinion (granted i've only been on the forum since it was first taking off 5 years ago) giving people rep for whatever reason is less harmful to the forum than something similar like abusing the like system.

 

with the like system you can gain meaningful perks such as vouch copies and hidden content bypass whereas with reps it's just a number, you gain almost 0 real perks from it.

 

you can give rep for any reason - and it's very common to rep people for helping with anything (onsite or otherwise) or just being generally a good person.

 

giving rep to someone for helping you reach a goal of yours as i see it is a very valid reason.

I just want to remind everyone, that this hasn't become personal anymore, rather it's now a discussion about whether it should be removed due to the Rules put in place.

 

In this particular situation Specifically from what was done. "he repped her because she repped him" . there is no need to add anything to this subject. There is simply no way to say that and also say its not against the rules in the same sentence. "he repped her because she repped him" is the subject, and you guys are trying to explain it. but explain what? you've already admitted to your wrong before you even started.

please tell me what rule has been broken, all i have seen is someone helping someone else with a goal, nothing else. the party that have the negative did so without the premise of gaining anything from it

She solely received the rep because she repped someone else. thats not allowed for 100 time. How can helping someone reach a goal of reps be a valid reason to get reps. 

 

Sarah should not be able to receive 3 rep for simply repping someone.( thats why there is a rep4rep rule. if shes allowed. than it shows how silly the rep system has become

Well he was asking for a negative reputation and not a positive one. It's totally ok for me.

 

The rule about rep4rep applies only on neutral/positive reputations.
