Exodus increase transaction fee?

Hi, I see now Exodus charge $4.xx fee for every transaction doesn't matter you send a dollar or whole BTC. before it was around $1 fee for $1-5 transaction and $2-3 fee for $5-1000 more maybe.

Should know that Exodus Fee = 30% used as transaction fee, 70% donation to Exodus.

But BTC itself is really congested rn and i just exchanged everything to ETH.   

 

 

also i found Blockchain wallet to be a bit better.

Regardless of the wallet you use, most wallets allow the use of custom fees. 
Whether you use exodus or a different one, the mempool is currently flooded and as such, there are high fees.

 

The fees are not based on the amount you send, but the size of the transaction you are creating. The number (and weight) of the inputs you are using.

If you receive many small transactions, which have a unique weight each, and then try to send a large amount thus consuming all those inputs (incoming transactions) the output (outgoing transaction) will add up all the weight from those inputs and will increase the price of the fee because the size of the transaction is large.

 

If you receive a 250$ transaction and you try to send 240$ the fee will be low (the amount of sat / byte necessary DOESN'T change but the weight of the transaction does)

 

a 240$ transaction could cost less to send than a 10$ transaction, entirely based on what the inputs consumed weigh and how many inputs are being consumed for each output.
