Yes I have big problem with it because it implies every dev is now a cheating nigger with "Main" being the main bitch and all my others being "side" bitches, fuck github i'm moving to bitbucket

it is so stupid to change well established terms that denote a relationship between 2 objects to pander to a community claiming everything is about slavery and racism.
the worst part is they are even planning to change "blacklist" and "whitelist" for "allow list" and "exclude list"

this change will cause nothing but problems for people using github, many people use automated scripts involving checking the MASTER branch, which now will have to be modified to "main" for literally no reason.
and blacklist/whitelist weren't even related to racism yet are getting changed because they dare use the same name as someones skin colour?

tl;dr its a dumb decision for the sole purpose of pandering and increasing PR using current events

that'd be just dumb to me, no one is complaining about 'master' being 'master', they'll only get hate if they just suddenly change to main just because it's related to slavery, in times like these, the best is to stay neutral like steam does

for me it is really dumb... ‘main’ means already a lot of things in programmation. plus their are not going to change the master branch name of got so it will be confusing to make the difference
