A question of MMOs: What game mechanics to MMOs draw you in?

In high school i began to play an MMO, it got to the point where i would go to sleep at seven PM, wake up at three, and use the morning to play before school. Now as an adult I still enjoy many MMOs, I have played things like Dofus, Mabinogi, and soon i will be starting Final Fantasy XIV.

So now I find myself wondering, what aspects of MMOs draw you in?

Is it the story?

The open world?

the options and class system?

I know I enjoy the classes. I enjoy building a class and all of the options for armour, mounts, and weapons. I find that there arent many single player games that have such a large and open RPG world (think skyrim open).

Combat is a big one for me. I love PVP and world pvp. My ideal model is pretty much like BDO. If it was properly executed.
