So i recently bought a very expensive item from costco. but they shipped something entirely different from what i ordered. i called them and they said they will send the original item and i will need to send back the item they sent originally. so i had to pay for boxing the item and printing the shipping label and i had to wait in UPS to send back the item they sent me that they weren't supposed to send me. i talked to a customer rep about this and they said they will pay me for my labor costs. what can i do? should i just tell costco to pay me like 5k for my labor costs or should i get a lawyer?
can i sue costco?

LOL yeah a lawyer will cost more then anything youll get.
Usally they pay for the label and email it to you to print and ship.
IF they said they would pay you for the shipping cost thats all you would be able to win in court,
No lawyer would take this case and the jude would most likely throw the case out after reviewing it as the company will just reimburse you.
I guess if they never rembust you then you can sue but again the lawyer cost will be way more then the $5 - $20 or whatever shipping was that you will get back by winning.
You can't just claim 5k for no reason at all. Unless you can prove that this made you lose $5000 some how then you can sue for that. So like if you whernet able to work due to this or some shit. but then it would need legit proof shown in court to count.
This would be a small claims matter not a criminal matter.

Costco is not the best to refund anyway. They have been asking people I know for Police reports lately. On items $2000+ and apple items.
Im not saying every case will be like that but ive seen more now then I have in the past.

I mean you can request a UPS pick up so.. Them paying you for "labour" is already more than what any other company would do, and shipping an item for 5k? That's over a months pay for some of their workers, there's no way you'd get that.

You will not win any case with this... They're already going far and beyond than any other company. Like the banned user said, "You can't just claim 5k for no reason at all. Unless you can prove that this made you lose $5000 some how then you can sue for that". The hassle, lawyer fees and VERY big potential of losing is not worth your "refund".
