Check out Cowboy Bebop. It's an older one but it still holds up today, great anime. It's about a bounty hunter named Spike and his crew in space. Has a lot of killer upbeat / down tempo jazz music in it too. One of my favorites

Death Note, Fairy Tale, One Piece, One Punch Man, and SAO are seriously good. Blue Exorcist is also really good, one of my favorites of all time.
Go for some of the classics, totally different style from anything made today. Give Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, and Zatch Bell a try. Akira is kind of a long movie, but it's fucking awesome.
