Yes, they didn't do anything about the first cases and kept running the country like the virus is some flu and didn't take it seriously.
Now they're fucked.

In addition Italy comparing to the other affected countries has the highest number of old people which are the most affected.

Is there a reason why Italy has so many?

We made a lot of tests comparing to the other countries.

Also the mortality rate is higher than the others because we are counting all the people who died with corona virus but who were already sick with cancer etc, so it's not sure they died for corona at all.

Another reason is because we have a really old populations, so they're already quite weak!!!

The coronavirus unfortunately stopped the Italian economic machine which was growing, especially in the tertiary sector. It is a worldwide problem that has upset not only Italy but all the countries of the world. In Italy the problem is that it is a country where there are many elderly people and the places for intensive care are not enough. Our government has provided several billion, but we are still waiting for a response from the European Union which, for now, has closed doors on us. As an Italian and European citizen I am ashamed of the economic and political strategies adopted by Europe ... China and Russia have done more for now.

This is a dramatic situation and will surely have a strong impact on the national economy. I hope that effective financial policies will be adopted, otherwise we could seriously risk the economic default.

You should see my country's death rate... With, or without Corona, I'm pretty sure it's worse than any other war-ravaged country.
