Unable to tunnel through proxy - Java

Hello everyone.

I'm currently trying to create my own checker and I would like to use proxies for the connections. The problem is, when I try use them using "HttpURLConnection" and "getOutputStream" method, I am getting the error : 

Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request"

I don't understand what that means, and how to get around it.
 

Have you ever coded a checker in Java??

Maybe you should use the main class using URLConnection.getConnection()
