From what i know people use either C# or java because you can create a gui for them? and not just console? am i correct?

I don't think that's mainly the reason why, other languages capable of doing the same task also have gui support. Maybe because better threading support?

Send as many applications out as possible. Don't worry too much about the specific school. As long as you can get a degree in the area you are interested in and get some internships, you should be good.

Agreed, you should def put yourself out there so in the end you have more choices to pick from. Don't stress you'll be alright
