I have done many Venmo trades, I obviously wouldn't risk my account over $250.

I don't think it is a chargeback, as Venmo has no such facility.

 

The transaction has been flagged, possibly due to the different geographical locations of the account holder and buyer.

You're right we don't.

 

But he has said that he has contacted Venmo to remove this as the product was shipped (tracking took a while to update) so he thought it was a scam. As stated in these images:

Why don’t you, the guy who was the man in the middle, contact your buyer and ask him why he’s requesting a refund if he paid for the product he was already given? With this logic I can go around scamming people, and when they chargeback I can tell people to “contact the sender” and take no responsibility.

If it was not clear it is your full responsibility to respond on this dispute and failure to resolve it will result in a permanent ban. You have to pay him back or make the arrangements so the chargeback is cancelled by the sender.

The account was not hacked and was used to pay for a physical product.
