btw, Telegram has some security flaws
But its still safe imo. The code (some parts) are all open sourced.

EDIT : read up on MTproto

and also, telegram doesnt encrypt its chat by default. You'll need to use a secret chat, like i suggested

I asked mainly because I heard about these laws in the past but I guess they won't be a big problem; I already knew 'bout the secret chat thing :wink:

I'm in a really messed up situation, I need to speak to a friend but we can't meet right now, how safe Telegram really is to speak about really dirty business? (not SE; much, much worse, that's why I am asking)

Also not interested in group chats; only private messages.

I've heard that it's pretty safe but I was wondering how much since it is linked to my phone number anyway and that could eventually be a problem for me.

Tbh I like Microsoft Edge, but if it did not come preinstalled with Windows 10 my web browser of choice would have been Opera too
