I've only done this 3 times. I can't be certain that was the reason, but that was the only controlled variable. I wouldn't want to deal with scam reports if it was an anomaly.

Pretty sure it's only guaranteed to ship together if they are both shipped by Amazon, the magnet is shipped through DIYMAG, so it's just taking a chance is what I think it is.

The magnet is shipped through Amazon sold by DIYMAG. 

They use amazon shipping facilities. Might not work if it's not in stock near you.

That's the luck. The magnet comes in a small box  that's packaged in a bigger box. with your other items

I did this because I originally needed the fish magnet. Ended up ordering a few items such as gear. 

It came but updated on amazon as that and I got a refund. I was confused.

Decided to order a second one with a new keyboard and mouse and the same thing happened. I only assumed it was a fluke.

Ordered another product without the magnet and it came through with no issue.

So I decided to risk it with a laptop, worse case scenario I would have to return it, and it ended up the same as other undeliverable. So I assumed the magnet is the issue. Checked my ring doorbell footage and it shows the delivery guy trying to scan the packages a few times before leaving it. I don't know the science behind it.
